SockWalk helps you photograph, organize, and remember your favorite socks and daily outfits. This page covers the most common questions.

Getting Started

Add socks to your collection

1. Open Collection.
2. Tap the + button.
3. Take a photo or choose one from Photos.
4. Review the detected socks, make any needed adjustments, and save them.

For the best results, lay the socks flat on a plain background, avoid folds and overlaps, and use bright, even lighting.

Record an outfit

Open Today, photograph the socks you are wearing, and link the outfit to a pair in your collection. Your outfit will then appear in the calendar.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why did SockWalk miss part of a sock?

Try taking the photo again with better lighting and a simpler background. Keep the entire sock visible and avoid overlapping objects. For crowded or overlapping socks, try Busy Scene mode. You can also adjust the detected area before saving.

Why is the camera unavailable?

Open the iOS Settings app, find SockWalk, and make sure Camera access is enabled. The camera is not available in the iOS Simulator and may also be unavailable if another restriction is active on the device.

Why can’t I save an image to Photos?

Open iOS Settings, find SockWalk, and allow it to add photos. SockWalk only requests permission to save the image you choose to export.

How does iCloud sync work?

When iCloud is available, SockWalk automatically synchronizes your sock collection, outfit records, calendar links, and related designs through your iCloud account. A cloud icon in the collection shows the current availability.

If sync is not working:

• confirm that you are signed in to iCloud;
• make sure iCloud Drive is enabled;
• check your internet connection and available iCloud storage; and
• leave SockWalk open briefly so synchronization can finish.

Your local collection remains available offline.

Are my photos uploaded for recognition?

No. Sock recognition and background removal run on your device. Saved library content may synchronize through your personal iCloud account when iCloud is available. See the Privacy Policy for details.

How do reminders work?

You can enable a daily reminder in SockWalk’s settings. The reminder is scheduled locally on your device; your reminder time is not uploaded to us.

If reminders do not appear, check Settings > Notifications > SockWalk and make sure notifications are allowed.

What is included in the free version?

The free version lets you create up to five pairs of socks over the lifetime of the app. Deleting a pair does not restore that free allowance. Outfit records, calendar features, sharing, and personalization remain available without an additional limit.

Is SockDiary Pro a subscription?

No. SockDiary Pro is a one-time, non-consumable purchase that permanently removes the five-pair creation limit. It does not renew automatically.

How do I restore SockDiary Pro?

Open SockWalk’s settings and tap Restore Purchases. Make sure the device is signed in with the same Apple Account used for the original purchase and has an internet connection.

If the purchase still does not appear, wait a moment and try again. You will not be charged for restoring an existing purchase.

How do I delete a sock?

Open Collection, enter management mode or press and hold a sock, then choose Delete. The sock image and its calendar links will be removed and the deletion will sync through iCloud. Historical outfit photos are kept but will no longer be linked to that sock.

To remove all remaining local and iCloud data, remove SockWalk from your devices and delete its stored data using Apple’s iCloud storage-management settings.
