FitEdit Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 6, 2026
Last updated: September 6, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how FitEdit, developed by Liang Dongjing (“FitEdit,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), handles information when you use the FitEdit iOS app.
1. Privacy at a Glance
- FitEdit reads health and fitness data only with your permission and processes that data on your device.
- A repaired workout is written to Apple Health only after you review and confirm it.
- We do not operate an account system and do not use advertising, cross-app tracking, or general behavioral analytics in FitEdit.
- Repair history, quota information, and purchased-credit balances are stored locally on your device.
- Apple provides HealthKit, MapKit, and App Store payment services. RevenueCat helps the app validate purchases and retrieve product availability.
2. Information FitEdit Handles
2.1 Health and fitness data
With your permission, FitEdit may read data from Apple Health that is needed to understand or estimate a workout, including:
- workout type, date, time, duration, distance, and active energy;
- workout routes and location points already associated with a workout;
- heart rate, steps, speed, power, cadence, stride length, ground contact time, vertical oscillation, and other relevant workout metrics; and
- profile or baseline information such as age, body mass, and resting heart rate.
FitEdit uses this information to display workouts, detect possible recording problems, estimate missing portions, identify overlaps or duplicates, and prepare the repair you ask it to create. This processing occurs on your device. We do not receive your Apple Health data on a developer-operated server.
2.2 Information you enter or edit
FitEdit handles the workout details you provide, such as activity type, start and end time, duration, distance, perceived effort, correction points, and route waypoints. The app combines these details with permitted health data to generate a proposed repair for your review.
2.3 Data stored locally by the app
FitEdit stores information needed to operate its repair and credit features, including:
- a local repair history and identifiers for workouts created by FitEdit;
- repair type, creation time, duration, distance, energy, and deletion status;
- the calendar month associated with your free repair credit;
- your remaining purchased-credit balance; and
- transaction identifiers already processed by the app, to reduce duplicate credit grants.
This information is stored on your device. FitEdit does not currently provide an account or cloud-sync service for it.
2.4 Route planning with Apple MapKit
When you ask FitEdit to generate a route, the route points you choose are submitted through Apple MapKit so Apple can calculate directions. Apple’s processing of this information is governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy. FitEdit does not request continuous background location access and does not send route information to our own server.
2.5 Purchase information
Purchases are processed by Apple. FitEdit uses RevenueCat to obtain product and offering information, validate purchase status, and help prevent duplicate processing. Apple and RevenueCat may handle information such as an anonymous app user identifier, product identifier, receipt or transaction data, purchase status, app and device technical information, IP address, locale, and timestamps. We do not receive your full payment-card details.
RevenueCat’s handling of data is described in the RevenueCat Privacy Policy.
2.6 Support communications
If you email us for support, we receive the information you choose to provide, such as your email address, message, diagnostic details, and attachments. Please do not include health or location information unless it is necessary and you are comfortable sharing it.
3. Permissions
FitEdit asks for Apple Health read and write permissions relevant to its features. You may grant or deny each category and can change your choices in the Health app or iOS Settings at any time. If required access is denied, some repair, estimation, save, or deletion features may not work.
FitEdit cannot read data from Apple Health merely because the app is installed. Apple controls HealthKit authorization, and FitEdit does not receive a list of read permissions you denied.
4. How We Use Information
FitEdit uses information only as needed to:
- display and analyze workouts you select;
- estimate, preview, and save the repairs you request;
- detect possible duplicate or overlapping workout data;
- generate routes through Apple MapKit when requested;
- maintain local repair history and repair-credit balances;
- process and validate in-app purchases;
- diagnose errors, protect the integrity of purchase processing, and provide support; and
- comply with applicable legal obligations.
FitEdit’s estimates are for personal fitness-record management, not medical diagnosis, treatment, or emergency use.
5. Health Data Commitments
We do not sell Apple Health data, use it for advertising, use it for cross-app tracking, or disclose it to data brokers. We do not use HealthKit data to build advertising profiles. Health data is accessed only for user-visible health and fitness functionality that you initiate.
6. When Information May Be Shared
We do not sell your personal information. Information may be handled by or disclosed to:
- Apple, when FitEdit reads from or writes to Apple Health, requests MapKit directions, or processes an App Store purchase;
- RevenueCat, for product availability, purchase validation, and purchase-status services;
- service providers used for support communications, if you contact us by email; and
- authorities or other parties when legally required, or when reasonably necessary to protect users, rights, security, or prevent fraud.
If responsibility for FitEdit is transferred as part of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, relevant information may be transferred subject to applicable law and this Policy.
7. Retention and Deletion
Workouts and samples saved to Apple Health remain there until you remove them using FitEdit, the Health or Fitness app, or another method provided by Apple. FitEdit can delete workouts and related samples that it created, but it cannot automatically delete an original workout created by Apple Watch or another app.
FitEdit’s repair history, quota state, and purchased-credit balance remain locally on your device until removed by an in-app action, clearing the app’s data, or deleting the app, subject to iOS behavior. Because Single Repair Credit is a consumable purchase and the balance is stored locally, unused credits may not be recoverable after app deletion, device replacement, or transfer to another device.
Apple and RevenueCat retain transaction information according to their own policies and legal obligations. Support emails are retained only as long as reasonably needed to respond, maintain support records, resolve disputes, or meet legal requirements.
8. Security
We use platform protections and reasonable technical measures appropriate to the information FitEdit handles. No storage or transmission method is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Your Choices and Rights
You can:
- review or change FitEdit’s Apple Health permissions at any time;
- review, edit, or decline a proposed repair before saving;
- delete FitEdit-created repairs from the app or manage health records through Apple’s Health and Fitness apps;
- delete local FitEdit data by deleting the app, subject to Apple Health records remaining separately; and
- contact us to ask about privacy or exercise rights available under applicable law.
We may need to verify a request before responding. Because FitEdit has no user account and most app data remains only on your device, we may not possess data that identifies or can be linked back to you.
10. Children
FitEdit is not directed to children under 13, or the equivalent minimum age in the relevant jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through a developer-operated service. If you believe a child has sent us personal information through support, contact us so we can address it.
11. International Processing
Apple, RevenueCat, email providers, and other service providers may process information in countries other than where you live. Their practices and safeguards are governed by their respective policies and applicable law.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when FitEdit’s features, service providers, or legal obligations change. We will revise the “Last updated” date on this page and provide additional notice when required.
